The Burlington Soccer Leagues Budget meeting will take place on Saturday 3rd March
The soccer pitch at Maple Community Park will be off limits for most, if not all, of the 2012 outdoor season while it's “rested and rejuvenated”
Maple Field is being reseeded at the goalmouth and through the centre of the field to eliminate an uneven playing surface.
Other than Maple Field, the city expects all regular fields to be ready for use in early May, depending on spring weather conditions, and figures premier natural grass fields – those that have lights – will be ready for play by mid-May to early June.
There are also two new artificial turf fields opening in New City Park, just south of Dundas Street and west of Brant Street, this spring.

PLAY OFF FINAL
SUNDAY 2nd OCT at SHERWOOD
EASTENDERS 3 v 2 REAL BEAUTIES

On a cold wet October day Eastenders met Real Beauties in the 2011 Play Off final.
Both teams came to the game following a good run of form. Eastenders had done their prep on the opposition , the team that had led the first division for most of the season but had never beaten EFC.
With an excellent crowd ( considering the conditions ) watching ,the teams kicked off. Marek Ostrowski was putting specific pressure on the Beauties defence. When a loose ball was won near the corner flag by Darren Jack he played a cross ball which fired over the area to Rob Broxholme, he in turn pulled the ball back to the edge of the area, with just 4 minutes played Paul Redmayne fired home the ball for the opening goal. This goal was a carbon copy of his goal in the 6th minute of the semifinal.
As Eastenders celebrated the threat of a Real Beauties onslaught was expected. To their credit the EFC defence and Alan Morrison in goal held them at bay for most of the first half. A lapse in defence in the 38th minute resulted in a penalty award to the Beauties (presumably for pushing). The Beauties spot kicker managed to fire over the bar to the relief of the Eastenders fans.Three minutes later Beauties fired a low shot in which hit the base of the post , rebounded across the face of the goal to safety.
Halftime 1-0
As the rain started to fall harder the men in blue discussed their strategy for the second half knowing the Beauties had the ability to fight their way back into the game.
The second half started with two attacking midfield wingers in place Lam and Phillips , they took the game to Real Beauties .A through ball was played to Daren Jack who ran towards the keeper and slotted the ball into the net to make it 2-0.Just a few minutes later Beauties leading scorer Swain scored what could be the goal of the season when he fired in a rocket from an impossible angle outside the area 2-1 .This brought the best out of Eastenders with them playing their strongest game , accurate passing. Teo Kochmar as usual became the focus of the play laying balls off and taking the pressure off the team.
Not settling for the one goal lead the Blues kept their two men playing forward, alternating between Haynes, A Viola and Jack.
Broxholme was moved forward from midfield and didn’t disappoint when he met the ball with his head in the 72nd minute which resulted in the ball creeping past the keepers hands 3-1.
Whenever the Real Beauties formed an attack the defence led by Van Der Vinne , Milinkovic , Sullivan and Locke kept them at bay until the 80th minute when Real Beauties Soley scored their second. 3-2
With the rain driving even harder it left a tense 10 minutes for Eastenders coach Dave Redmayne and their fans.
Kirby strengthened the defence with McClean and M Viola assisting the midfield .
The referee decided to play an additional 5 mins for goal celebrations and substitutions but eventually blew to the delight of Eastenders.
Final score : Eastenders FC 3 Real Beauties 2
The celebrations started, after 13 seasons Eastenders FC had won the play off final .
The champagne flowed (sprayed ) and then all the squad were treated to a Wardell Insurance sponsored meal at the teams bar sponsors establishment Ye Olde Squire .
Man of the match: Paul Redmayne
Credit goes to the full squad , the coaching staff , families and friends ……………especially the ones who endured those terrible weather conditions on Sunday
Thanks to everyone plus the teams 2011 sponsors.
